Brighton offers several accommodation options for students and tourists. Besides the in-campus lodging offered by the University of Brighton, there are several small apartments and host families who welcome students for long-term stay. Tourists can stay at one of the hotels around the city centre.

Hotels and Accommodation

While in Brighton, visitors and guests have plenty of hotels and accommodation to choose from. Travellers who are on a budget can stay at the Victorian-style Belgrave Classic Hotel. This clean, comfortable hotel is conveniently located at the Brighton seafront. It has a car rental service, business center, and conference room. Each of its 63 rooms has satellite TV, electronic safes, bathrooms inlaid in marble, and data ports. The hotel provides 24-hour room service courtesy of the Cloisters Restaurant and Bar.

Visitors can also stay at the Thistle Brighton hotel that houses some of Brighton's most luxurious bars, restaurants, and lounges. Most of its 208 rooms have excellent views of the Brighton coast.

Student Accommodation

Each University of Brighton campus has residence halls and University-accredited housing. Students in the Moulsecoomb campus can stay at the Moulsecoomb Place located inside the campus and only two minutes away from the city centre. Each of its 163 rooms has complete furnishings and Internet access. Moulsecoomb Place is only a few minutes away from the Moulsecoomb railway station, restaurants, shops, and the bank.

Students in the Grand Parade campus can get accommodation at the nearby Phoenix Brewery. The rooms at Phoenix Brewery are grouped into flats, where each flat has a communal kitchen and bathroom. All its residents share a common room, but special rooms for student couples can also be available.

Varley is the university's largest residence hall, and it is located between the Moulsecoomb and Falmer campuses and 5 km / 3 miles from the city centre. Varley has three sections: Ashdown House; Balcombe, Chailey, and Ditchling; and Framfield, Selsey, Kingston, and Chalvington. Its largest complex has its own fitness suite that students can use for a minimal annual fee. It also has a restaurant that sells meals and snacks. Ashdown House has 82 single study bedrooms, a comfortable bathroom-to-room ratio of one-to-eight, a communal launderette, and Internet access in each room.

Balcombe, Chailey and Ditchling has simple study bedrooms with communal kitchens, bathrooms, showers, and water closets. It has its own computer room, which is connected to the university's network. It offers the cheapest student accommodation available at only £60 per week. Framfield, Selsey, Kingston, and Chalvington has self-contained flats with communal showers, bathrooms, and kitchen. Each of its 225 rooms is fully furnished.
